The now famous young "escort" in the prostitution case that torpedoed New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is enjoying a boost to her budding music career, thanks to all the publicity. Ashley Alexandra Dupre's MySpace page has chalked up over 5 million hits since the scandal broke, and her R&B songs are nearing a million paid-for downloads, reports AP.
With club DJs getting ready to spin Dupre's songs tonight and record companies already expressing interest, the thousands of dollars Spitzer handed over to the 22-year-old woman he knew as "Kristen" could soon look like small potatoes. Adult men's magazines are interested, too, but they fear they may have already missed the boat. "She's no doubt going to do a book. There will probably be a movie," sighed Hustler's publisher. "It's probably wishful thinking to get in the door." (More Eliot Spitzer stories.)
