If James Bond's hours got cut and he had to take a second job delivering pizzas, this is the car Q would undoubtedly work up for him. Domino's latest extreme advertising campaign is a specially designed Chevrolet Spark with room for up to 80 pizzas and sides, as well as a built-in oven, the Los Angeles Times reports. According to Adweek, Domino's is making 100 of the new vehicles—called the Delivery Expert, or DXP—to be rolled out in cities around the country in the coming months. "People want their pizza to be as hot and fresh out of the oven as possible," says an ad executive behind the car. "The DXP, with its built-in warming oven, can deliver on that better than any vehicle before it."
The Times reports the oven, which holds eight pizzas, is located behind the driver's door and accessed via an exterior door. According to Adweek, Domino's opened and closed the oven door 10,000 times during safety testing. The company also removed all seats besides the driver's to make room for massive amounts of deliverable items (including the rest of those aforementioned 80 pizzas). Finally, a "puddle light" on the car projects the Domino's logo onto the ground. Domino's, which spent more than three years developing the DXP, tells the Times it will revolutionize the pizza delivery game while making drivers' jobs easier. However, most of the 400 million Domino's pizzas delivered in the US every year will still be transported in the drivers' own cars. (More Domino's Pizza stories.)
