Somebody very, very determined apparently stole a forklift from a construction site in North Dakota early Wednesday, drove it to a Wells Fargo ATM almost a mile away, and used it to try to rob the ATM. An alarm was triggered, and the Dickinson Police Department arrived on the scene to find the ATM destroyed. But, though someone had attempted to steal its contents, no money was actually taken, the Dickinson Press reports.
As for the forklift, which had been run into the ATM, there was an estimated $2,000 worth of damage done to it. The company that owns it is hoping security camera footage will shed some light on what happened, as the keys were not left inside the forklift when it was taken. So far, police have no suspects. (More crimes involving construction equipment here, here, and here. And, for good measure, here's one involving a Zamboni.)
