A crowd gathered along Fifth Avenue ahead of Pope Francis' arrival in New York City last night wasn't exactly thrilled to spot another celebrity: Donald Trump. The Republican candidate was booed and jeered by the crowd when he stepped out of Trump Tower and again when he appeared on a balcony, reports the New York Daily News. There were a few cheers for Trump, the Daily News reports, but they were drowned out by the boos and chants of "feo," which is Spanish for "ugly."

After his motorcade made its way to St. Patrick's Cathedral, Francis spoke to an evening prayer service, saying "Muslim brothers and sisters" could be "assured of his prayers for “the tragedy they have suffered at Mecca," the Guardian reports. He mentioned the church's sex abuse scandals, telling clergy members they had "suffered greatly" by "having to bear the shame of some of your brothers who harmed and scandalized the church," the AP reports, and he praised America's nuns as "women of strength" and "fighters."
