A season-best defensive performance against the Nets propelled the Rockets into rarefied air: the fourth 19-game win streak in NBA history. Houston held New Jersey to 28 first-half points and 30.4% floor shooting overall in a grinding 91-73 victory, reports the Houston Chronicle. Tracy McGrady led his team with 19 points.

Added coach Rick Adelman: "The thing that always amazes me is the consistency. Over the 60-plus games, we've been so consistent defensively." The other three teams with 19-game win streaks—the 2000-01 Lakers, the 1971-72 Lakers, and the 1970-71 Bucks—all won championships. New Jersey concluded a winless five-game Southwest road trip.
