Michael Brown's Dad Stopped Cutting Beard Day Son Died

"My strength is my beard," Michael Brown Sr. tells CNN. "Every strand of hair means something." The father of Michael Brown, the black teen who was shot and killed by white officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9, 2014, in Ferguson, Missouri, says his beard is a symbol of the anger and sorrow he can't express publicly. Brown stopped cutting his beard the day his son died, and since then has been traveling the country for protests and meetings. He started a nonprofit, Chosen for Change, to help black youth and says he is thankful that his son didn't die in vain. Brown says he'll cut the beard when he sees signs of justice.
