The website Patently Apple spotted an eye-popping stat in an otherwise humdrum form Apple filed with the SEC: The company spends $699,133 annually on CEO Tim Cook's security. "His personal safety and security are of the utmost importance to the Company and its shareholders," Apple explains elsewhere in filing, and thus it finds the expense to be "reasonable and necessary," notes the Guardian. It might well be: Business Insider points out that Amazon shelled out $1.6 million on security for Jeff Bezos in 2013. (More Apple stories.)
