B.C. a Mammoth Waste of Time

The prehistoric adventure 10,000 B.C. isn't just a spectacle of cutting-edge effects, it's "a tedious bore in which grubby people stand around muttering in a variety of badly chosen accents," writes Josh Tyler in Cinema Blend. Unfortunately for writer/director Roland Emmerich (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow), most other critics seem to agree.

Brian Orndorf of BrianOrndorf.com says that the film—about a mammoth hunter trying to save a beautiful princess and his tribe—probably looked “amazing” on paper. But "Emmerich’s execution of the whole shebang is sleepy, and the screenwriting downright deplorable," Orndorf complains. Adds Josh Bell of Las Vegas Weekly: "Worst of all, no one even gets eaten by the disappointingly tame saber-toothed tiger." (More guy movies stories.)
