The Sonics couldn't maintain their early excellence last night, ultimately losing  to Detroit, 100-97. After shooting 82 percent in the first quarter, and accumulating a 13-point lead, Seattle's level of play dropped dramatically as Detroit, led by Tayshaun Prince and Chauncey Billups, took the lead with a dominating fourth quarter to win their fifth of six. In other NBA action:

  • Charlotte finally put a stop to a nine-game road losing streak with a decisive 109-89 victory over Minnesota, the AP reports. The loss makes 11 in 13 games for the T-Wolves
  • Memphis extended a more dubious loss streak to nine games, as the Bulls topped them 112-97. This marks the worst play Bobcats fans have seen since the 2002-03 season
