The win moved the Sabres to within one point of the Flyers for the eighth and final playoff spot. Maxim Afinogenov and Jason Pominville each had two goals for Buffalo, according to the Associated Press. Elsewhere in the NHL:

  • Craig Anderson had 40 saves to lead the Florida Panthers to a 1-0 overtime victory over the Boston Bruins. Anderson’s strong effort comes immediately after his record-setting 53 saves in a shutout during a 1-0 victory on Sunday.
