'Bitch is the new black!' bit should help counter the Obama video blitz

She didn't rap over a stump speech, but Tina Fey's rousing defense of Hillary Clinton on "Saturday Night Live" may help the underdog candidate challenge Barack Obama's domination of viral videos, writes Time TV blogger James Poniewozik. Fey's lampooning of the arguments against Hillary, including that she's a bitch—"Yeah, she is. So am I. You know what? Bitches get things done!"—is "the kind of thing a campaign needs," Poniewozik writes.

Though her "30 Rock" character is an Obama booster, Fey urged Texas and Ohio voters not to dismiss the besieged Clinton. Women are so liberated they don’t feel obligated to vote for the female candidate, Fey joked on her return to "Weekend Update," but rather “free to make whatever choice Oprah tells them to.” Telling viewers to "get on board!" she closed with "Bitch is the new black!"—a slogan Poniewozik says the Clinton team should be printing on T-shirts right now.
