At 2nd Cop's Funeral, Sea of Blue Again Turns Its Back

Even as Bill de Blasio today eulogized fallen officer Wenjian Liu as "brave" and "kind," and urged his fellow members of the NYPD to "move forward by strengthening the bonds that unite us and let us work together to attain peace," his words again fell on a sea of blue backs, reports the New York Times. Despite being asked not to by Commissioner Bill Bratton, thousands of police officers lined up outside a Brooklyn funeral home and repeated what the AP calls a "stinging display of scorn" for the embattled New York City mayor; those officers turned back around when Bratton took the podium. The service was broadcast on screens outside the funeral home.
