Stealing an ATM by scooping it up with a forklift probably seemed like a good idea at the time. But whoever tried to pull the stunt in Florida on Monday failed and is now the subject of a police investigation, First Coast News reports. The creative thief pilfered a 10,000-pound forklift from a construction site in Jacksonville overnight and drove it to Synovus Bank. When the attempt to remove the ATM failed—police say the drive-thru machine was severely damaged—the thief ditched the forklift at the bank. The station reports seeing an officer dusting it for prints. And after all that trouble, the suspect didn't even steal any cash, the bank confirmed. (This Tennessee man allegedly tried to have sex with an ATM.)
