Paul Turns Attention to State Race

Ron Paul posted a blog last night saying that he's pivoting away from the presidential race, Politico reports. He plans to focus on running for Congressional re-election in Texas and wrote that he will not stump as a third-party federal candidate. He is also trimming his national campaign staff, the AP reports. "I have constituents in my home district that I must serve," he wrote.

"If I were to lose the primary for my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that happen." Paul also said there is little chance of a brokered convention, where he could use his 17 delegates, now that Romney is out of the race.
