With the Stars playing a young set of defensemen, Marty Turco's solid performance in goal has been crucial to Dallas's recent wins. Yesterday, when they found themselves outshot by Edmonton 17-5 in the first period, Turco became more critical than ever, grabbing 32 saves in the 4-1 victory, reports the Dallas Morning News. In other NHL action:

  • Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere got his 28th career shutout but saw St. Louis take the 1-0 victory on shootout goals from Andy McDonald and Brad Boyes.
  • Robert Luongo came back to Florida as a Canuck, only to let former teammate Nathan Horton fake him out on the shootout, giving the Panthers the 4-3 win.
