With the search on for five kids immortalized in a photo snapped by Ringo Starr in 1964, one man has come forward to say the Beatle may have just mixed up his cities: Kenneth Kolpan believes the photo was taken in New York City, not Miami. Kolpan tells the Miami Herald that he recognizes the crew as his former classmates from New Jersey's Fair Lawn Senior High School; he recalls them cutting class in order to greet the Fab Four when they touched down at LaGuardia.
Kolpan wasn't there, but he says he recalls their story: "On the way from LaGuardia they saw four limos and thought it was a funeral, but each limo carried a Beatle." Kolpan says the car was driven by the late Gary Van Dursen, Robert Toth sat shotgun, and Charles Schwartz leaned out the window as the late Matty Blender (left) and Arlen Norbe Ressler (right) looked on. Two problems, though: None of those identified has come forward to confirm Kolpan's assertion, and the Herald notes they "were not immediately found in the school’s 1964 yearbook." If the story is true, there's a perk for those who step forward: Starr is hoping to meet them. (More Ringo Starr stories.)
