These days, promoting your new album doesn't just mean getting DJs to talk about it on the radio, oh no. The Week rounds up seven albums that were promoted in very weird ways indeed. A sampling:
- Arcade Fire, Reflektor: The band hired graffiti artists to put the word "Reflektor" on buildings around the world; eventually, the Internet figured out it was the title of the upcoming album.
- Jay Z, Magna Carta Holy Grail: He gave away the first million copies of the album free, but only to Samsung customers (Samsung paid $5 per copy).
