Justin Bieber is now a man (boy?) without a monkey. After little Mally was seized by German customs authorities in March, Bieber was told he'd have to submit a bunch of paperwork (vaccination and import records) to get the capuchin back. But Friday's midnight deadline came and went, and a customs rep says his office received no such documents. As such, the monkey officially became German property today, the AP reports. Bieber still has six weeks to contest the decision, though we're not holding out much hope that he will.

The monkey will reportedly go to a zoo, but officials won't say which one (presumably because they don't want it to be mobbed by Beliebers). Up til now, Mally has been cared for at an animal shelter and is doing well; German authorities want to charge Bieber for that care, and plan to send him a bill for food and vet visits that will reach into the thousands of dollars. (Bieber didn't have a great weekend, either; click to see why.)
