When preemptively celebrating the return of a driver's license lost to a DUI, most people might attempt to, say, not drink and drive. Or get pulled over. While speeding. With BAC at twice the legal limit. Nevertheless, police say that's the predicament Chicago-area woman Erin James found herself in on Friday, reports the Chicago Tribune, when they pulled her over and she blew a .155%.
Cops say James let it slip that she'd been out at a bar feting her soon-to-be-returned license, which was suspended in a 2012 drunk driving incident that required her vehicle to be equipped with a breath alcohol ignition interlock device, known as a BAIID. Guess which car she was driving? Not that one! "The fact that she was driving a vehicle not equipped with a BAIID shows that she had every intent of drinking and getting behind the wheel," says the local police chief in a statement.
