David Koresh died, along with scores of followers, 20 years ago during a federal raid on the Branch Davidians' Waco, Texas, compound—but even after two decades, some survivors believe Koresh will be resurrected, NPR reports. "We survivors of 1993 are looking for David and all those that died either in the shootout or in the fire," says Clive Doyle, who acts as unofficial spokesperson for the group. "We believe that God will resurrect this special group."
Nine of the survivors were convicted on various charges related to the initial raid, but all are now out of federal prison. Paul Fatta, who was imprisoned for almost 13 years on weapons charges, says he still believes and "would like to see some divine intervention, for God to vindicate his people." And on the site of the doomed Waco complex, a new Branch Davidian community has sprung up. "The United States has to fall in order for the One World Order to be set up," says Charles Pace, the leader of the 12-strong community. "Especially if there's war in the Middle East, that's when they're going to see Branch Davidians start scrambling to find out what the truth is, and where they need to be."
