Texas elementary school teacher Esther Irene Stokes had a novel defense to an accusation she fondled a 7-year-old student—Stokes said she's too racist to have touched a black child, reports Raw Story via the Houston Chronicle. The girl claimed that Stokes touched her "private part," outside of her clothes on March 1, when all the other students were outside of the classroom. The girl says that after she told the teacher to stop, she was forced to stand in the hallway without lunch.
After Stokes failed a lie-detector test, she insisted upon her innocence, telling investigators she “doesn’t like black students because she was prejudiced” and “has little to no interaction" with the girl, according to the prosecutors complaint. Stokes was fired on Tuesday, but insists she did nothing wrong. "I'm hurting," the girl's mother told KHOU News. "I'm angry to the fullest." (More Texas stories.)
