Ohio Craigslist Killer Guilty, Could Get Death

The Ohio street preacher who masterminded a plot to kill jobseekers lured to an Ohio town by ads on Craigslist has been found guilty of killing three men. Relatives of the three victims hugged and Richard Beasley, 53, slumped forward in his wheelchair as the verdict was read out, the AP reports. "I'm satisfied, I'm satisfied. I didn't have a doubt," said the father of victim Timothy Kern, a 47-year-old who was slain after responding to an ad for a farmhand job.

Beasley was also convicted of wounding a fourth man, who managed to escape from Beasley and teen accomplice Brogan Rafferty after being shot in the arm. Rafferty, who was 16 at the time of the murders, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole last fall. The same jury that found Beasley guilty will reconvene next week to decide whether to recommend the death penalty. (More Richard Beasley stories.)
