For the second year running, Kate Upton graces the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue. And this year, the apparently sadistic SI bosses thought it would be fun to make the 20-year-old stand, in bikini bottoms and an unzipped jacket, in icy Antarctica for the cover shoot. Upton was "very, very sick" upon her return home to Florida, she tells the AP. "I don't think you can go to Antarctica and stand in a bikini without that happening. But I didn't die, and I'm OK now." TMZ reported back in December that the temperature was 35 degrees below zero.

The magazine—the 50th-anniversary issue—hit newsstands today, after being officially unveiled last night on the Late Show With David Letterman. But the cover had been leaked three days earlier, the New York Daily News reports. Inside the magazine, the fashion shoot captures 17 swimsuit models on all seven continents—and a less-clad Upton. Out of a dozen or so photos in which she appears, that cover shot "is the most clothes I'm wearing in the whole issue," she says. "It was a sort of I-love-you from the editor: 'I'll let you wear a coat for this one.'" (More Kate Upton stories.)
