The sex abuse scandal that has been roiling the BBC, involving longtime children's host Jimmy Savile, has spilled over to a more notorious sex offender: Rocker Gary Glitter has been arrested this morning by London police, reports the AP, citing British media. He reportedly remains in custody. Police have said that though the majority of cases involved just Savile—who died last year, and is accused of coercing sex from as many as 300 teens over a period of decades in his car and even BBC dressing room—some had accused other unidentified suspects in conjunction with Savile.
Glitter, 68, has convictions for obscene acts with children and child porn, and has served time in a Vietnamese prison for sex with minors. The Catholic Church, meanwhile, is moving to posthumously remove Savile's papal knighthood, notes the BBC. Click for video of one accuser describing the abuse of both Savile and Glitter.
