No. 25 Wisconsin got 25 points from reserve freshman Jon Leuer and beat Michigan 70-54 to open Big Ten conference play. The Badgers improve to 11-2 with the win and both losses were to Top Ten teams, Marquette and Duke. On the flip side, Michigan fell to 4-9 and is off to their worst start since 1981-82, reports AP. Elsewhere in the Big Ten:

  • Indiana freshman Eric Gordon continued his remarkable season, leading his team with 25 points, as the No. 11 Hoosiers held off a late rally to defeat Iowa, 79-76.
  • Junior forward Jamelle Cornley led Penn State to a 79-68 win over Northwestern with 22 points and 11 rebounds. Wildcat freshman Michael Thompson chalked up 17 points and 10 assists in the loss.
