Lance Armstrong Was a Vindictive Liar: Former Assistant

Lance Armstrong may have trouble hiring a personal assistant who's read this: Mike Anderson, who says he assisted Armstrong for 2 years, calls the cyclist a mean, vindictive liar who all but admitted to doping ("Everyone does it," Armstrong told him) and kept a banned steroid in his medicine cabinet. Anderson's cutting article in Outside also claims that Armstrong reneged on a promise to finance a bike shop for Anderson. Then Armstrong "started attacking me, personally and professionally, in a way that ruined my job prospects in Austin," writes Anderson.

At issue was Anderson's refusal to sign a nondisclosure agreement that said he would keep mum about his Armstrong job. So the two ended up swapping lawsuits—a devastating experience for Anderson, who lost friends and colleagues and was "ruined" financially, he writes. Ultimately they settled and Anderson moved to New Zealand with his wife. "Geographically, of course, I’m as far removed from Lance Armstrong as possible," writes Anderson.
