Judge: Tax Hike Needed to Fight UN in US Revolution
If UN troops try to invade Lubbock County, they'll have to go through this man first.   (Lubbock County)

The freedom-loving people of Lubbock County, Texas, could be crushed under the heel of the United Nations if they don't approve a 1.7-cent rise in the tax rate, warns a local official. Judge Tom Head told a local radio station that the extra funds are needed to prepare for many contingencies, including a potential civil war if President Obama is re-elected, reports the Houston Chronicle. "He's going to try to hand over the sovereignty of the US" to the United Nations, he warned, "What is going to happen when that happens?" Head asked.

"I'm thinking the worst," he said. "Civil unrest, civil disobedience, civil war maybe. And we're not just talking a few riots here and demonstrations; we're talking Lexington, Concord, take up arms and get rid of the guy." If such unrest occurs, Obama is "going to send in UN troops," the judge said. "I don't want 'em in Lubbock County. OK. So I'm going to stand in front of their armored personnel carrier and say 'you're not coming in here.'" The judge says that while fighting off the UN, he wants "trained, equipped, seasoned veteran officers to back me" instead of rookies—hence, the need for a tax hike. (More strange stuff stories.)
