If you're going to email threats against President Obama to the FBI you can expect the Secret Service at your door—which is exactly what happened to a man in Washington state. Anton Caluori, 31, was apparently expecting the knock. He brandished a shotgun at a Secret Service agent and a local police officer when they came to his home in a Seattle suburb, AP reports. "The shotgun was coming up to point in the direction of the agents," said a police spokeswoman. "The two officers were able to close in and take control of the weapon before anyone was harmed."
Officers also seized a gun in Caluori's ankle holster, officials said. His apartment complex was evacuated and searched for explosives based on comments he had made in his emails, but none were found. He will appear in court today, and is charged with making threats against the president and assaulting a federal officer. "He has a good education, he’s a good boy, but he’s done a stupid thing," his mother told reporters. "Never got arrested, was in the military, has a college education. And I'm just a little bit upset and shocked." (More Secret Service stories.)
