Seems Americans aren’t beating the heat in the cool refuge of movie theaters. Expendables 2 hobbled to No. 1 this weekend with $28.8 million, $6 million behind The Expendables' debut, despite having some extra star power (Liam Hemsworth and Chuck Norris are among the "newbies"). Bourne Legacy slid to second ($17 million), while ParaNorman took third ($14 million) and The Campaign fourth ($13.4 million). Whitney Houston's last movie, the musical drama Sparkle, came in fifth on the low side of expectations ($12 million), says The Hollywood Reporter.
