Bhutto's Body Flown Home

The body of Benazir Bhutto was flown to her ancestral homeland in Pakistan Friday as riots in the wake of her assassination claimed the lives of at least nine people. Police reported widespread unrest in Karachi and across the country, CNN reports. TV footage showed Bhutto supporters torching cars and throwing rocks at police. She will be buried Friday near her father in their family village.

"It's all mayhem everywhere," said a banker in Karachi. "There's absolutely no order of any kind." Police shot into a crowd in Khairpur and killed at least two people, a local TV station reported. President Musharraf, meanwhile, convened an emergency meeting with top aides to discuss a possible postponement of the January 8 elections, MSNBC reports. (More Benazir Bhutto stories.)
