The mystery surrounding Sage Stallone's tragic death deepens: A Los Angeles coroner denies reports that Stallone was living in filth when his body was found, but does confirm there were prescription bottles in his home; the LAPD wants to talk to doctors who prescribed Stallone medications. Stallone's attorney and friend believes the 36-year-old died of either natural causes or an accident, Radar reports; he also says Stallone couldn't have been dead three or four days, since he uploaded Facebook photos just 17 hours or so before his body was discovered, E! adds. Another friend says Stallone was making plans for the future shortly before his death, although he "seemed under the influence of a pharmaceutical medication" and was "a little spaced out."
One of those plans? Getting married. Stallone's attorney says Stallone and his girlfriend were planning to marry as soon as next weekend in Las Vegas. Though the autopsy has been completed, there is still no official cause of death. And though there were no signs of foul play, the LAPD has brought in the Robbery-Homicide Division to assist simply because it's a celebrity case. Meanwhile, father Sylvester Stallone issued this heartbreaking statement to CNN: "This is in reference to the speculation and questionable reporting surrounding the death of my son Sage. Because when a parent loses a child there is no greater pain. Therefore I am imploring people to respect my wonderfully talented son's memory and feel compassion for his loving mother Sasha, because this agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives.
