Polite little Palau is surprisingly blunt

What sort of ranking gives its top spots to Palau, the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam, and puts the US at No. 7? The list of the world's top countries for marijuana use, reports Business Insider, based on the UN's latest World Drug Report. Palau dominated the rankings, with 24.2% of its population between 15 and 64 having used pot in in the last year. The United States reported just 14.1%, behind Italy, New Zealand, and Nigeria. Without further ado:

  1. Palau: 24.2%
  2. Northern Mariana Islands: 22.2%
  3. Guam: 18.4%
  4. Italy; New Zealand*: 14.6%

  1. Nigeria: 14.3%
  2. United States: 14.1%
  3. Canada: 12.7%
  4. Saint Kitts and Nevis: 11.7%
  5. Bermuda: 10.9%
