Breivik May Get Hired Jail Buddies

If Anders Behring Breivik ends up in Ila Prison, he needn't worry about making friends: It's prepared to hire some for him. Norway doesn't allow extended solitary confinement, but prison officials don't want to risk allowing the confessed killer "normal contact with others," fearing he might take a fellow prisoner hostage, Sky News reports.

"Many of the measures surrounding Breivik are being created to avoid a hostage-taking, which would be the only way for him to get through all the different layers of security that have been established between him and freedom," says the prison's director. He would be able to play, say, chess or indoor hockey with the hired pals, notes the Telegraph.
