DNA Found on Bag Spy's Body Was Stuffed In

Police investigators found tiny traces of another person's DNA on the zipper and lock of the sports bag that MI6 spy Gareth Williams was found dead in, a detective told the inquest investigating Williams' death today. "My thought or opinion since I went into the scene is that a third party had been involved," Detective Chief Inspector Jackie Sebire said, according to the Telegraph. But she said the DNA traces had been small, and that police hadn't yet matched them to anyone.

Sebire testified that Williams was found inside the bag in the fetal position, and that there were no signs of struggle or indications he attempted to break out of the bag. "In my opinion he was very calm, his face was very calm. His hands were laid across his chest," she said. Seibre also revealed that the women's clothing widely reported to have been found in Williams' room was largely unworn, and that detectives found, curiously, a newspaper clipping on the regrets of the dying in his living room.
