Castro 'Love' Gets Guillen Suspended for 5 Games

An apology apparently didn't cut it. Miami Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen is out for five games after telling Time last week that he "loves" Fidel Castro, praising the fact that after six decades of weathering enemies, "that motherf----r is still here," reports ESPN. Both the Marlins and Guillen released apologies over the weekend, and Guillen today offered another mea culpa (mostly in Spanish) at a Miami press conference.

One reporter asked him if he did indeed love Castro and respect his staying power. "No I do not," responded Guillen. When asked why he told Time he did, he responded, "I was thinking in Spanish," and trying to say something along the lines of "I cannot believe [he] is still alive."
