RNC Chief: GOP Doesn't Have Woman Problem

Enter the caterpillar. Republican National Committee chief Reince Priebus is generating headlines today with an insect analogy. In an interview with Bloomberg TV's Al Hunt, Priebus rejected charges that Republicans have a woman problem. “If the Democrats said we had a war on caterpillars and every mainstream media outlet talked about the fact that Republicans have a war on caterpillars, then we’d have problems with caterpillars,” he said. “It’s a fiction.”

Democrats pounced. “To have the head of the GOP say these attacks on women are as fictional as a ‘war on caterpillars’ is callous and dismissive of what matters to women and completely out of touch,” said DNC chief Debbie Wasserman Schultz. (She's referring to bills like this one.) At the Washington Post, Aaron Blake suggests that Democrats are going a bit overboard in their reaction as they try to create an election issue.
