President Obama released his NCAA bracket again this year and, ho hum, he's got two No. 1 seeds and two No. 2 seeds making the Final Four. Look back over previous years and you'll find pretty much the same thing, writes Steve Kornacki at Salon. Obama—the author of The Audacity of Hope—has no faith in the underdog, even though his own story is "one of the most impressive political Cinderella stories of all-time," writes Kornacki.

The bracket speaks to the man and his presidency: "We were initially conditioned to expect boldness, imagination and outside-the-box thinking, but by now we’ve realized that it’s bland, utterly rational pragmatism that really drives him (with a dose of political calculation thrown in)." That's not necessarily a losing strategy: see health care reform. It's just not the one "we would have expected when we first met him all those years ago." Read the full column here.
