The 2-year-old girl whose extra limbs were removed in a marathon surgery left a Bangalore hospital today for home. Doctors say Lakshmi Tata, born with four arms and four legs from a conjoined twin, will recover, but they cautioned she will need more surgery, BBC reports. "Lakshmi is normal, eating well and in good spirits," said one surgeon.

Conjoined twins are rare, accounting for just one in every 200,000 births, and few survive. Lakshmi’s parents are taking her back to their Indian village, where some have hailed the child as the reincarnation of her namesake, the four-armed Hindu goddess of wealth. “My daughter is going to lead a normal life,” said the girl’s father.
