Santorum Glitter-Bombed in Tacoma

Speaking in Tacoma, Wash., last night, Rick Santorum was met with loud protests from young people in the front row. The candidate's speech—given near an Occupy Tacoma site—competed with chants of "right-wing bigot" and "go away" for an hour. After Santorum's speech, one protester tossed glitter at him. At least two were ultimately hauled off by police; a local TV station reported that one was tased.

But Santorum seemed to be enjoying himself, the Wall Street Journal reports. He accused the protesters of class warfare, saying they represented "true intolerance." "I don’t think they’re a bigot because they disagree with me," he said. But "I understand their frustration. For three years they haven’t been able to find work, they have a president that doesn’t care about them. … Their president has left them behind, but we won’t."
