In what could be seen as an early Christmas present for PETA, West Hollywood’s proposed fur ban was approved last night. The City Council voted 3-1 to prohibit sales of clothes including “the skin or pelt of animals with hair, wool, or fur,” the AP reports. The fur ban is believed to be the first of its kind in America. West Hollywood also prohibits declawing cats, and officially uses the term “companions” rather than “pets.” (More West Hollywood stories.)
