Scottish officials want the Donald to take his golf clubs and go home. A council panel in Scotland today rejected Trump's plans to build a $1 billion golf resort, the Guardian reports. Trump can appeal to higher authorities, but he might just be miffed enough to walk away. "This sends a message that if you want to do business, don't come to the northeast of Scotland," griped a spokesman.
Trump's plans called for two top-notch golf courses, a luxury hotel, and 1,500 houses to be built north of Aberdeen. "Jobs are going to come into the area, but the money won't stay here," said one opponent. Environmentalists also objected, and one local fisherman ticked off Trump by refusing to sell a chunk of land needed for the development. (More Donald Trump stories.)
