Russia TV Edits Out Medvedev Dance Parody

In the annals of Russian censorship, this barely makes a ripple. But it's a great excuse to run video of Dmitry Medvedev grooving at a college reunion. The video went viral in Russia when it first surfaced, and a comedy troupe recently won top prize in a TV competition for its "Dancing Like Dmitry" parody. One problem, notes the BBC: When the show aired on state TV, the Medvedev skit was nowhere to be seen. The Kremlin swears it had nothing to do with the decision—Medvedev has maintained a sense of humor about his dancing skills all along—and one political analyst thinks it might be a classic case of self-censorship on the part of weak-kneed execs at Channel One.
