If Moammar Gadhafi gets the boot, we should get some booty, or so thinks Donald Trump. "We are NATO. We back NATO in terms of money and weapons. What do we get out of it?" he asked the hosts of Fox & Friends today. "Why won’t we take the oil?" he said. "Why aren’t we reimbursing ourselves? You know, in the old days, when you win a war, you kept 'to the victor, belong the spoils.'"
"When they came to us, begging for help," Trump noted, "wouldn’t you say, 'We’re going to help you, but when and if you are successful, we get half of your oil'?" He later added that while the US struggles, "all of those rebels are going to be richer than the people of this country because they will take the oil," reports the Raw Story. (Trump also advocates "reimbursing ourselves" by seizing Iraq's oil.)
