The FBI has expanded its investigation into News Corp beyond just claims that News of the World journalists hacked into the phones of 9/11 victims. It's now looking into past claims of misconduct by the media giant, reports the Independent. Specifically, investigators are revisiting a lawsuit filed against News Corp by advertising company Floorgraphics, which alleged it was hacked by a Murdoch-owned competitor in 2004.
The suit ended when News Corp bought Floorgraphics for nearly $30 million in 2009. So far, though, investigators have reportedly not discovered any evidence of phone hacking by NotW journalists in America. News Corp is also being investigated as to whether bribes of British police officers violated any American anti-corruption laws. (More News Corp stories.)
