JaMichael Brown was predicted to be a big baby, around 12 pounds—but he came out even bigger on Friday morning, weighing in at a full 16 pounds, 1 ounce. That makes him the largest baby born at Good Shepherd Medical Center, and maybe even the largest ever born in Texas, the Houston Chronicle reports. According to doctors, most infants don't reach JaMichael's size until between 3 and 6 months of age. Hospital officials are looking through state documents to see if the baby has indeed set a record.

“We’re just amazed,” says mom Janet Johnson, who delivered via Cesarean section. “I can’t believe he’s that big. A lot of the baby clothes we bought for him will have to be returned. They’re already too small for him to wear." (More Texas stories.)
