A University of New Mexico football player was kicked off a plane and ultimately arrested yesterday because airline employees didn’t like how low his pants were hanging. Police got a call at 9am complaining that someone was exposing themselves outside a US Airways gate, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. An airline employee had asked Deshon Marmon, 20, to pull up his pants, which were, according to police, “below his buttocks but above his knees, and … much of his boxer shorts were exposed.”
Marmon refused, and boarded the plane. There he was again asked to hike up his drawers, and again refused. “At that point he was asked to leave the plane,” police said. “It took 15 to 20 minutes of talking to get him to leave the plane, and he was arrested.” Marmon had been trying to fly back to school after attending the funeral of a close high school friend. He’s currently being held in jail on suspicion of trespassing, battery, and resisting arrest. (More University of New Mexico stories.)
