Money | Google Google Launching Online Music Service Cloud-computing music service expected to be announced later today By Mark Russell Posted May 10, 2011 3:40 AM CDT Copied Google is reportedly going to announce a new cloud-computer music service later today. (AP Photo/Virginia Mayo, File) Google is poised to enter the music business, reportedly with a cloud-computing system similar to the Amazon Cloud service announced in March, according to the Wall Street Journal. Users will be able to upload music to online "lockers" and stream the music to various devices. But because Google has not entered into licenses with the four music majors, users will not be able to download music. Google has tried to break into music before, but those attempts foundered early. An announcement is expected later today at Google's annual Google developers conference in San Francisco. Read These Next Trump laid a 'trap' for Democrats, and GOP aims to pounce.
