As Wisconsin Republicans pushed for a law curbing union rights, 26-year-old Katherine R. Windels decided to send a note to 15 GOP lawmakers voicing her displeasure. That part's fine. What's not, police say, is that the subject line of her March 9 email read: "Atten: Death Threat!!!! Bomb!!!" In the text, she advised legislators to "Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your families will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks," reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"I hope you have a good time in hell," she wrote, adding that she'd put "a nice little bullet in your head." Investigators showed up at her door the next day; she was charged yesterday with two felonies and two misdemeanors, which could result in jail time and heavy fines, notes WKOW-TV. Authorities concluded that Windels didn't pose a genuine threat, however, and didn't take her into custody. (That's drawing controversy, too.) She's due in court later this month.
