Blake Fielder-Civil, husband of British singer Amy Winehouse, was arrested yesterday for allegedly trying to fix the results of a forthcoming assault trial. Fielder-Civil and an other man reportedly offered $400,000 to the victim, a bartender who alleges Fielder-Civil attacked him at a pub. The maximum penalty for perverting the course of justice is life imprisonment, the London Times reports.
Winehouse embraced her husband of 6 months and told him she loved him as eight plainclothes officers took him from their London home. Winehouse has not been implicated in either case, but her family has linked Fielder-Civil to the singer's recent struggles with bulimia and other health problems, including drug addiction.
