An explosion killed at least 35 people and injured up to 168 more today in the international arrivals wing of the Domodedovo Airport, the largest of Moscow's three commercial airports, according to Russia Today. The attack appears to have been a suicide bombing; investigators believe that a man was wearing an explosive device packed with shrapnel to increase casualties. There have been reports of a second suicide bomber as well, according to RIA Novosti, but they haven't been confirmed.
Casualties were especially high because roughly 30 flights were due to arrive around the time of the blast. Police are reportedly looking for three suspects who they've identified by watching airport security logs. They said all three men live in Moscow, and are part of the Russian North Caucasus militant group. Other reports indicate that Russia's Federal Security Bureau knew there was a risk of a terrorist attack in the city, but that their information was incomplete.
